Cabinet Painting and Wrapping: What's In the Price, and What Isn't

  • Collection of cabinet doors and drawer fronts, degreasing, filling, sanding, priming and 2-3 spray colour coats plus a protective topcoat
  • New hinges fitted where needed, plus a touch-up kit left with you for minor scratches afterwards
  • Vinyl wrapping of cabinet doors or worktops in wood grain, stone or solid-colour finishes, including edge finishing
  • Handle and hinge replacement, fitted professionally if you'd rather not do it yourself
  • Under-cabinet LED strips, LED downlights, pendant fittings and dimmer circuits
  • A free consultation with a kitchen assessment, budget-appropriate recommendations and a written cost estimate before anything is booked in

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Full worktop replacement - a separate job priced at roughly £2,000-4,000 rather than the £200-400 wrapping option
  • Deep-damaged or heavily curved-edge worktops, which usually aren't suitable for wrapping and need replacing instead
  • New electrical circuits, sink relocations or gas hob/range connections - carried out by qualified tradespeople and quoted separately from the painting or wrapping price
  • The appliances themselves - we can fit work around a new oven or range cooker, but the appliance is bought separately
  • Wall painting, styling and deep cleaning - most homeowners handle these themselves as the DIY side of a mixed budget

From Free Consultation to Doors Back On: The Week a Professional Makeover Takes

  1. Free consultation -- We assess the kitchen in person, talk through what's realistic for your budget, and give colour and finish guidance along with a written cost estimate - no hidden fees.
  2. Choose your finish -- Pick a spray colour (any RAL or standard paint reference) or a wrapping finish - wood grain, stone effect or solid colour - and confirm any hardware and lighting changes at the same time.
  3. Doors collected or worktops templated -- Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are taken off-site to our spray booth so the rest of the kitchen stays usable, while worktops are measured and templated on-site for wrapping.
  1. Preparation and application -- Doors go through degreasing, filling, sanding, priming, 2-3 colour coats and a protective topcoat; worktops have the vinyl film heat-formed on with the edges finished off.
  2. Refit and finishing touches -- Doors typically go off on a Monday and come back refitted by Friday. New hinges, handles and lighting are fitted at the same visit so everything's done together.
  3. Sign-off and guarantee -- We check the finish with you before we leave and back the work with a 5-year guarantee, plus a touch-up kit for any accidental scuffs later on.

Which Makeover Route Suits Your Budget and Timeline?

Option Typical Cost Timeframe Best For
DIY paint and hardware £150-300 in materials 2-3 weekends Confident DIYers wanting a quick refresh on a tight budget
Professional cabinet painting £1,400-3,200 for a full kitchen About a week (doors off Monday, back Friday) Solid, well-built cabinets that just need a new colour and a durable finish
Vinyl wrapping (doors and/or worktop) £120-180 per door, £200-400 for a worktop 1-2 days on-site Good-condition surfaces that need a style change without full replacement
Full worktop or cabinet replacement £2,000-4,000+ 2-4 weeks including ordering Damaged, curved-edge or structurally worn surfaces that wrapping can't fix

Why the Trade Qualifications Matter Once Electrics or Gas Are Involved

Several of the upgrades covered in this guide - extra sockets, new lighting circuits, moving a tap, fitting a range cooker - are jobs that need a qualified tradesperson rather than careful DIY, and the qualifications behind them are what separate a lasting result from a callback six months later. Any electrical work on your makeover is installed and safety-certified by a Part P approved electrician, and any gas hob or range cooker connection is fitted and commissioned only by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Door and frame carpentry, including Shaker door swaps and new drawer fronts, is carried out by City & Guilds qualified joiners, so everything sits flush and closes properly for years rather than just on installation day.

Old doors, drawer fronts and packaging are cleared away under our own registered waste carrier licence rather than left for you to deal with. We're members of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Federation of Small Businesses, and every job carries a 5-year labour and installation guarantee on top of the 2-year guarantee on any new products fitted.

Where We've Been Fitting Makeovers Recently, and How Far We'll Travel

Most of the projects in this guide are around Doncaster itself - the case studies above give a real sense of where we've been working recently, from a galley kitchen in Thorne to a 1990s honey oak kitchen in Armthorpe and a Victorian terrace in Bentley. We're based on Avondale Road in Rotherham, so Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield and Barnsley are all a straightforward reach for us, along with Doncaster's surrounding towns and estates - Bawtry, Tickhill, Sprotbrough, Conisbrough, Mexborough and the old coalfield villages such as Askern, Carcroft and Adwick le Street. We also take on larger makeover projects further afield in York, Leeds, Wakefield, Nottingham and Hull.
