Not Included / Costed Separately
- Structural changes to cabinets or units needed to support the extra weight of a stone worktop, priced once seen at survey
- Complex edge profiles, curved sections or multi-piece inlays, which add polishing and fitting time and increase the quote
- Moving or reconnecting plumbing for sinks and taps, or gas/electrical work for hobs and appliances -- carried out by our in-house Gas Safe engineers, Part P electricians or NVQ/City & Guilds trained plumbers and quoted alongside the worktop, not automatically bundled into a worktop-only price
- Repair or restoration of an existing granite worktop, which we treat as a separate repair job rather than part of a new installation
- Resealing after the first year or two -- granite needs resealing roughly every 1-3 years depending on use, and this isn't a one-off included cost
Granite or Quartz: Which Suits Your Kitchen
| Factor | Granite | Quartz |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | Natural stone, cut and polished from quarried blocks | Engineered surface made from crushed stone bound with resin |
| Typical cost position | Generally the more expensive option, priced for its natural prestige | Usually less expensive than granite |
| Ongoing care | Needs resealing roughly every 1-3 years to stay stain-resistant | Non-porous, so it needs less ongoing maintenance |
| Appearance | Every slab is unique, with its own natural veining and pattern | More uniform, consistent pattern across the surface |
Two Checks Before Any Granite Is Bonded in Place
Granite is one of the few worktop materials where fabrication is genuinely one-shot: once a slab is cut to the template, there's no trimming it back if the template was out. That's why on-site laser templating is carried out to within 1mm before a single piece of granite is cut, capturing the exact run of your cabinets, any out-of-square walls, and the position for sink cut-outs and draining grooves at the same visit. The finished slab is then delivered and dry-fitted against your units before any adhesive is used, so the fit against upstands, appliances and gaps can still be checked and adjusted while the granite is loose, rather than discovered after it's bonded down. That two-stage check -- laser template, then dry fit -- is what catches a problem while it's still an easy fix rather than a full remake.

The finished worktop carries a 5-year labour and installation guarantee plus a 2-year guarantee on the stone itself, and if you want to weigh granite against something less porous before committing, the wider kitchen worktops range covers quartz, Dekton, Corian and laminate too.
Granite Worktops Fitted Across Doncaster and the Surrounding Area
Premium Kitchens of Doncaster fits granite worktops throughout Doncaster and the wider South Yorkshire area, from Doncaster city centre out to Bessacarr, Balby, Wheatley and Wheatley Hills. Older properties in the market towns of Bawtry and Tickhill, and villages such as Sprotbrough and Warmsworth, often have narrower hallways and staircases than newer builds, which is factored into the delivery and dry-fit plan for a heavy stone worktop. New-build estates around Rossington, Woodfield Plantation, Auckley and Hatfield tend to have more standard kitchen layouts, which usually makes templating and fitting more straightforward. Coverage also extends to Armthorpe, Conisbrough, Mexborough, Adwick le Street, Carcroft, Askern, Bentley, Stainforth, Kirk Sandall, Thorne, Dunscroft, Dunsville, Cantley, Finningley and Blaxton, and further out to Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley, Leeds, Wakefield and Hull, plus Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Derbyshire.

Wherever the job is, the same free consultation and laser-templating process applies before any granite is cut.
Frequently Asked Questions About Granite Kitchen Worktops
Is a new granite worktop installation guaranteed?
Yes. Every granite worktop we fit is backed by a 5-year labour and installation guarantee, alongside a 2-year guarantee on the worktop itself. If anything settles, moves or fails within that period as a result of the fitting, we come back and put it right.
What happens to my old worktop when the new granite is fitted?
It's removed as part of the preparation phase before the new granite is delivered, and taken away under our own registered waste carrier licence. You don't need to arrange a skip or separate collection for the old worktop or any offcuts.
