If your kitchen cupboards are structurally sound but looking tired, dated or simply the wrong colour, a professional respray can give them a smooth, factory-level finish without the cost and upheaval of ripping the kitchen out. We spray kitchen doors and drawer fronts for homeowners across Doncaster and South Yorkshire, working from a climate-controlled workshop booth rather than spraying inside your kitchen - that keeps overspray, dust and fumes out of your home and gives a harder, more even cure than an in-situ job can manage.

Every respray goes on with a two-pack polyurethane topcoat colour-matched to the shade you want, including two-tone schemes, and starts with a free, no-obligation survey and written quote before anything is booked. The finished work carries a 5-year guarantee, so it's backed the same way as a full kitchen installation, not treated as an afterthought.
What's Included In A Cupboard Respray
- Doors and drawer fronts removed, numbered and taken to the workshop for cleaning, repair, priming and spraying
- Kitchen islands, pantry units, utility room cabinets and integrated appliance doors, not just the main run of units
- Fixed elements such as face frames, end panels and islands sprayed on-site using airless equipment with masking and extraction
- Backs, edges and the inside of face frames sprayed to match, not just the visible door fronts
- Two-pack polyurethane topcoats supplied by Teknos, colour-matched to any shade including two-tone schemes such as navy lowers with white uppers
- New handles and hinges fitted alongside the respray if you want to update the hardware at the same time
- Solid wood, MDF, particleboard, laminate and vinyl-wrapped doors, provided the existing vinyl is sound
Not Included / Costed Separately
- Doors that are severely damaged, warped or delaminating - a respray won't fix these, so replacement doors are recommended instead
- Vinyl-wrapped doors where the vinyl is already peeling or bubbling - the vinyl needs replacing before spraying is an option, not after
- Spraying doors in place inside your kitchen - this is deliberately not offered; doors and drawer fronts always go to the workshop, only fixed elements are sprayed on-site
- Worktop replacement, new appliances or structural alterations - these sit outside a respray and are quoted separately if needed
How A Spraying Project Runs, Start To Finish
- Free survey and quote -- A visit to your home to assess the cabinets, confirm they're a suitable candidate for spraying rather than replacement, and talk through colour and finish. Quotes are typically emailed within 24 hours.
- Doors removed and taken to the workshop -- Doors and drawer fronts are numbered for reinstallation and transported to the spray workshop, usually the first day of the job. Fixed items that can't be removed stay in place.
- Cleaning, repair and priming -- Grease and grime built up around hob areas is stripped off, dents and old screw holes are filled, joints reglued if loose, everything sanded smooth, then coated with an adhesion primer suited to the door material.

- Spraying -- Multiple thin coats of two-pack polyurethane are applied by HVLP or airless spray gun in the booth's controlled temperature and humidity. A sample door is sprayed and approved before the full batch goes ahead.
- Curing, while fixed elements are sprayed on-site -- Doors are left to cure fully in the workshop over a day or two. Meanwhile face frames, end panels and any islands are sprayed on-site with proper masking, so both jobs run in parallel.
- Reinstallation and final check -- Cured doors are rehung, new hardware fitted if ordered, and the kitchen given a final clean. A typical full kitchen takes 5-7 working days in total; larger jobs or hardware changes can add a little more.
What A Respray Costs Compared To Replacing
Spraying is priced against what a full replacement of the same kitchen would cost, and the gap is usually large - one recent job came in at £3,200 against a £15,000 quote for a full new kitchen, and another homeowner saved over £8,000 by respraying rather than ripping out. What a job costs depends on the number of doors and drawer fronts, how much repair and preparation the cabinets need before they're sprayable, whether islands or utility cabinets are included, and any hardware changes. None of that can be priced accurately over the phone - the free survey exists precisely so cabinets can be checked in person and an honest, written quote given, including saying so if a kitchen isn't a good candidate for spraying at all.

Spraying, Brush Painting Or Replacing: How They Compare
| Option | Finish | Typical cost | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional workshop spraying | Smooth, factory-like finish, no brush marks, hard-curing two-pack polyurethane | From around £3,200 for a full kitchen, project-dependent | Cabinets that are structurally sound but tired or the wrong colour |
| DIY brush or roller painting | Visible brush strokes and uneven film build, softer standard paint | Cost of paint and tools only | Small touch-ups where a factory finish isn't the priority |
| Full kitchen replacement | New units and doors throughout | Often £15,000+ for a full kitchen | Cabinets that are warped, water-damaged or beyond repair |
A Two-Pack Trade Finish, Sprayed In A Booth, Not A Tin Of Paint And A Dust Sheet
Every respray goes on using Teknos two-pack polyurethane, a trade topcoat that cures far harder than the acrylic or standard paint used in a DIY respray, so it holds up better around handles, hob splashbacks and worktop edges where daily use shows first. Colour matching runs to any shade you want, including two-tone kitchens such as navy lower cabinets with white uppers, so you're not limited to picking from a handful of stock colours. Doors and drawer fronts are always sprayed off-site in the workshop booth rather than masked up in your kitchen, which is also why the finish holds up as well as it does - a controlled environment means an even coat with no dust nibs or fume risk in your home.

The work is backed by the same 5-year guarantee that covers a full kitchen installation, and we're members of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Federation of Small Businesses.
Where We Spray Kitchen Cupboards Across South Yorkshire
We spray kitchen cupboards for homeowners throughout Doncaster and the wider South Yorkshire area. In established suburbs such as Wheatley Hills, Cantley and Bessacarr, many semis and detached houses still have their original solid wood or MDF fitted kitchens - doors that are structurally sound but simply dated, which is exactly the situation a respray is built for. Further out, in Rossington, Armthorpe and Mexborough, more of the housing stock is newer estate-built with laminate or vinyl-wrapped doors, which is why we always check the vinyl is sound before booking rather than after - peeling or bubbling vinyl needs replacing first.

Jobs in Balby, Bentley and Adwick-le-Street follow the same route: a free survey to check the doors are a genuine candidate for spraying, then a written quote before any work is booked.
