What a Vinyl Wrap Visit Actually Covers
- Vinyl film applied to existing cupboard door faces, drawer fronts and any visible end panels, in a choice of finish - woodgrain, matte, gloss or textured film
- Doors taken off their hinges before wrapping rather than filmed in place, so edges and joints can be checked and the film wraps cleanly around them
- Any swollen edge, loose joint or pulled hinge found while doors are off, repaired by City & Guilds qualified joiners as part of the same visit rather than wrapped over
- New handles and hinges fitted if you want a different look, or your existing hardware refitted once the wrapped doors go back on
- A written quotation setting out exactly which doors and panels are being wrapped, the film finish chosen and the price, agreed before any work starts
Not Included / Costed Separately
- Cupboard carcasses and boxes themselves - if a box is damp-damaged, delaminating or the layout needs to change, that's a full replacement job, not a wrap, since film can only go over the doors and panels, not rebuild the box underneath
- Worktops - can be quoted as a separate job at the same visit if you want them changed too, but they're not part of the wrap price
- Doors too far gone to wrap safely - vinyl won't bond properly to chipboard or MDF that's swollen or delaminating from water damage, and this is flagged at survey stage rather than wrapped over and left to fail
- Appliance moves or upgrades - existing ovens, hobs and extractors stay where they are; the only exception is reconnection work made necessary by a door or worktop repair, which is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, not charged as part of the wrap itself
- Structural changes - moving a wall, changing the kitchen layout or adding extra cupboards falls outside a wrap and would need a separate quote
Vinyl Wrapping Compared to Spraying and Full Replacement
| Option | Typical cost | Time to complete | What actually changes | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vinyl wrapping | Around £2,000-£4,000, confirmed at your survey | Usually 1-2 days | Vinyl film applied to existing door and drawer faces; cupboard boxes and layout stay as they are | Solid cupboard carcasses that just look tired or dated, and a fixed budget |
| Spray painting | Quoted alongside wrapping at the same home visit | Broadly similar timescale to wrapping | Doors and frames resprayed in a bespoke colour, including Farrow & Ball and Little Greene matches | Solid wood or previously painted doors where a painted finish is wanted rather than a vinyl film |
| Full replacement | Around £15,000-£25,000 | 2-3 weeks | Entire kitchen removed and refitted; layout, carcasses and worktops can all change | Cupboard boxes that are damaged, or a layout that no longer works for the household |
Why Door Shape and Hardware Get Checked Before a Wrap Is Quoted
Vinyl film only stretches so far, so the shape of a door matters as much as its condition when working out whether it's a good wrap candidate. A flat slab door, or a shaker profile with a shallow groove, takes film cleanly in one piece, wrapped edge to edge with no visible join. A door with a deep ogee moulding, a raised centre panel or a curved cornice is a different job: the film has to be cut and dressed by hand into every internal corner, and on a tight enough groove it can stress-whiten or split at the fold rather than lie flat. That gets checked door by door at survey, not assumed for the kitchen as a whole, because a run of otherwise matching doors can still include a few with a moulding profile the vinyl won't follow.

Heat gets checked too, separately from shape. A door hinged right next to a hob or a single oven that runs hot sits closer to sustained heat than the rest of the run, and it's heat against a film edge over several years that tends to lift it, rather than anything to do with damp. Where a door sits close enough to matter, that's flagged at the same visit, and either a heat-tolerant film or a small change to the splash zone gets discussed rather than wrapping it exactly like the rest of the kitchen and hoping it holds. Hinge and handle cutouts get looked at as well - a door that's had hardware moved or refitted before sometimes has enlarged or slightly torn holes, and film laid straight over an oversized cutout won't hide it or hold a hinge plate properly. Where that's found, City & Guilds qualified joiners fit a new plate or make good the hole as part of the same visit, rather than it showing up as a loose door a few months after the wrap goes on.
Fitting Vinyl-Wrapped Kitchens Across Doncaster and South Yorkshire
Premium Kitchens of Doncaster wraps kitchens across Doncaster and out through South Yorkshire, working from a base at Avondale Road in Rotherham. That covers Doncaster itself - Bessacarr, Wheatley, Balby, Edenthorpe and the town centre - plus Rotherham and the towns in between, including Bawtry, Conisbrough, Mexborough, Thorne and Armthorpe. A lot of the housing stock across this area dates from the 1970s through to the 1990s, and kitchens fitted in that period often have solid timber-faced or laminate doors on cupboard boxes that are still structurally sound underneath - exactly the kind of doors that take a wrap well rather than needing to be ripped out and replaced. Wherever you are in that area, a survey to check the doors are actually suitable for wrapping is arranged at the property before any price is given.

Can Entire Kitchen Cupboards Be Vinyl Wrapped?
Yes, absolutely. We can wrap every visible surface in your kitchen if you want a complete transformation. Doors, drawer fronts, end panels, even the inside faces of cupboards if you prefer them to match. Most customers choose to wrap just the visible surfaces - doors and drawer fronts. This gives maximum impact for minimum cost. But if you're someone who notices details, wrapping the internal surfaces creates a really premium finish. We wrapped a kitchen in Balby last year where the customer wanted everything done - including the insides of all cupboards and drawers. The result was stunning. Every time she opened a door, it felt like looking into a luxury display. Internal wrapping considerations: Adds to the cost but creates premium feel Requires more precision around hinges and catches B
What's Included in Cupboard Vinyl Wrapping Service?
Our standard service covers more than most companies include. We believe in being upfront about what you get for your money. Always included: Site survey and colour consultation Removal and refitting of all doors Professional vinyl application Hardware cleaning and adjustment Full cleanup and completion check Available as extras: Internal cupboard wrapping New handles and hinges Plinth and cornice wrapping Appliance panel creation Color-matched repairs to chips or scratches We've found that being clear about what's included prevents misunderstandings later. Nobody likes surprise extras appearing on the final bill. The survey visit lets us spot potential issues early. Doors that don't close properly, worn hinges, damaged catches - we can fix these problems as part of the overall project rat
Can You Wrap Both Internal and External Cupboard Surfaces?
This question comes up a lot, especially from customers who really care about finishing touches. The answer is yes, but there are practical considerations to think about. External surfaces - doors and drawer fronts - get wrapped as standard. These are the surfaces everyone sees, so they get the full treatment every time. Internal surfaces depend on what you want to achieve. If you love opening cupboards and seeing everything match perfectly, internal wrapping is worth the extra cost. If you're more practical and nobody ever sees inside your cupboards anyway, save the money. We completed a kitchen in Adwick recently where the customer was very specific about internal matching. She'd lived with a mismatched kitchen for years and wanted everything perfect this time. Every internal surface got
What Cupboard Components Do You Include in Wrapping Services?
We wrap everything that forms part of your kitchen's visual design. If you can see it, we can wrap it. Standard components: Wall cupboard doors (all sizes) Base cupboard doors Drawer fronts (all configurations) End panels and wine racks Integrated appliance doors Additional components available: Plinths and cornices Breakfast bar edges Open shelf faces Internal drawer boxes Spice rack fronts The goal is creating one cohesive look throughout your kitchen. Random mismatched elements ruin the effect of an otherwise perfect transformation. Last month we wrapped a kitchen in Cantley that included some unusual components. The original installer had created custom wine storage and display shelves. Rather than leaving these as mismatched wood, we wrapped them to match the new cupboard finish. The
Can You Wrap Internal Cupboard Surfaces and Shelving?
Internal wrapping transforms how your kitchen feels every time you open a door. Instead of looking into tired old melamine or wood, you see fresh surfaces that match your new design perfectly. Shelving options: Fixed shelves get wrapped in place Adjustable shelves can be removed and wrapped Wine rack inserts and spice racks included Drawer boxes (if in good condition) The process takes longer because every edge needs perfect finishing, but the results are worth it for customers who appreciate attention to detail. We wrapped all the internal surfaces in a kitchen in Warmsworth last year. The customer was a retired teacher who kept everything incredibly organised. Every shelf, every internal surface matched the exterior dove grey finish. Opening any cupboard felt like looking into a luxury d
How Do You Handle Hinges, Handles, and Other Hardware?
Hardware makes or breaks the finished look of wrapped cupboards. Shiny new vinyl with tired old hinges and handles looks unfinished. We clean, adjust, or replace hardware as needed to complement your new finish. Hinges get the full treatment: Complete removal and cleaning Lubrication and adjustment Replacement if worn or damaged Color-coding if you want hardware to match Handles and knobs: Cleaning and polishing of existing hardware New handles if you want an update Color-matched options available Modern styles that compliment wrapped finish Other hardware includes: Door catches and magnetic closures Drawer runners and soft-close mechanisms Internal fittings and organisers Appliance door mechanisms We wrapped a kitchen in Kirk Sandall where the customer loved her cupboard layout but hated
Can You Create Different Finishes for Upper and Lower Cupboards?
Two-tone kitchens are hugely popular right now, and vinyl wrapping makes them affordable for everyone. We can create any colour combination you want. Popular two-tone combinations: White uppers with grey lowers (classic and timeless) Natural wood uppers with painted lowers (modern farmhouse) Bold colour lowers with neutral uppers (statement style) Dark uppers with light lowers (dramatic and sophisticated) The key is getting the balance right. Too much contrast can feel jarring. Too little and you lose the impact. We help customers find combinations that work with their existing tiles, worktops, and flooring. Last year we completed a kitchen in Edenthorpe with forest green lower cupboards and cream uppers. The combination looked expensive and sophisticated - exactly what the customer wanted
How Do You Handle Cupboard Hardware During Wrapping?
Professional hardware handling is what separates amateur jobs from professional results. We remove every piece of hardware, wrap around it properly, then reinstall everything so it works perfectly. Our hardware process: Photograph everything before removal (so we know exactly where it all goes) Remove handles, hinges, and catches carefully Clean and inspect all hardware thoroughly Apply vinyl with precision cuts around mounting points Reinstall hardware with proper alignment Adjust everything for perfect operation Special attention to: Soft-close mechanisms (delicate and expensive to replace) Integrated appliance door hinges (complex adjustment needed) Under-cupboard lighting connections (must remain accessible) Internal storage systems (pull-out drawers, carousels) We wrapped a kitchen in
