Cabinet Respray To Full Worktop Swap: What's Included In Your Upgrade

  • Cabinet painting and airless spray refinishing, with colour matching to ranges such as Farrow & Ball and Little Greene
  • Vinyl wrapping of existing cabinet doors as a lower-cost alternative to a full respray
  • New doors, drawer fronts and soft-close hinges fitted onto your existing cabinet boxes
  • Worktop replacement in granite, marble, quartz, Dekton, Corian, Minerva, porcelain or laminate, laser templated for an exact fit
  • Handle, tap and ironmongery changes
  • New splashback or backsplash installation, including glass splashbacks
  • Lighting upgrades - under-cabinet LED strips, pendant lighting over islands and dimmable spotlights
  • Storage improvements such as soft-close drawers, pull-out larders and corner storage units
  • Appliance integration and replacement, connected by our own plumbers and electricians and, for gas hobs or range cookers, commissioned by a Gas Safe registered engineer
  • Layout changes such as moving a doorway or relocating an island, where the existing structure allows
  • Removal of your old units and waste, cleared under our own registered waste carrier licence

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Structural work such as removing a wall or moving load-bearing elements - this is built into our premium full-redesign projects but needs a site visit to price separately if you're working to a smaller budget upgrade
  • New appliances aren't part of a budget-tier cabinet refresh - appliance supply and fitting is only costed in from the mid-range upgrade upwards
  • Building regulations sign-off for structural changes - we coordinate this where it's needed, but it's quoted and timetabled as its own step rather than folded into a standard modernisation price

How A Kitchen Modernisation Runs, From First Visit To Final Clear-Out

  1. Free consultation and assessment -- One of the team comes to the kitchen, looks at what's salvageable - cabinet boxes, layout, existing worktop - and what needs replacing, then works up a CAD visual and a written quotation before anything is booked in.
  2. Choosing finishes and materials -- A spray colour matched against Farrow & Ball or Little Greene, or a vinyl wrap sample, worktop material, handles and lighting are agreed and confirmed in writing along with the price, so there's no ambiguity about what's included once work starts.
  3. Protecting the kitchen and stripping out -- Doors, drawer fronts and any worktop or splashback being replaced are removed and the room is dust-sheeted before spraying, fitting or plumbing work begins, so the rest of the house stays usable while the work is on.
  4. Trade work on site -- Doors are sprayed or wrapped off the cabinet boxes for an even, hard-wearing finish, new worktops are laser templated and fitted, and any plumbing, electrical or gas work needed for appliance changes is carried out by the relevant qualified trade.
  5. Reassembly and reconnection -- Doors go back on with new soft-close hinges, appliances are reconnected, any gas hob or range cooker is recommissioned by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and new lighting is wired in and tested.
  6. Final check and clearance -- A walkthrough confirms everything works and fits as agreed, old doors, offcuts and packaging are cleared under the company's own registered waste carrier licence, and guarantee paperwork is handed over.

Spray, Reface Or Replace: Comparing Your Kitchen Upgrade Options

Upgrade Route Typical Price* Time On Site Best Suited To
Spray finish, new hardware & lighting £3,000-£7,000 1-3 days Cabinet boxes are solid but doors, handles or worktops look dated
New doors, worktop & appliance refresh £7,000-£15,000 1-2 weeks Layout works fine but finishes, storage and appliances need replacing
Full redesign with cabinets & structural changes £15,000+ 2-4 weeks Current layout doesn't suit the household, or units are damaged beyond refinishing

In-House Joiners, Plumbers And A Master Plasterer On Every Refit

An upgrade or modernisation throws up different problems to a brand new kitchen fit, because everything is being worked around cabinet boxes, pipework and wiring that are already there. When a spray finish goes on, it's not just the doors - any wall or ceiling patching left behind by a removed splashback or extractor hood has to be made good first, which is why that stage goes to a master plasterer with decades of on-site experience rather than whoever happens to be spraying the doors that week. Reconnecting sinks, taps and appliances to existing pipework is carried out by NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds trained plumbers, and any new under-cabinet lighting or socket changes are wired and safety-certified by a Part P approved electrician, rather than left as a bodge because the rest of the kitchen isn't being touched. Where a hob or range cooker is being swapped as part of the upgrade, it's only ever recommissioned by a Gas Safe registered engineer, whether or not the gas run itself is being altered. The same 5-year labour and installation guarantee and 2-year product guarantee apply to an upgrade as they would to a full replacement, and every door, offcut or old unit cleared out along the way goes under the company's own registered waste carrier licence rather than being left in a skip for you to deal with.

Bawtry To Thorne: Kitchen Modernisations Across South Yorkshire

Doncaster city centre and the surrounding suburbs already mentioned above - Bessacarr, Balby, Wheatley, Cantley and the rest - are home turf, and the team also travels out to Bawtry, close to the Nottinghamshire border, Tickhill with its historic castle, and the Thorne and Hatfield area on the edge of Hatfield Moors. Beyond South Yorkshire's own towns, upgrades and modernisations are arranged as far as Sheffield, Rotherham, Leeds, Wakefield and York, and into Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby, Derbyshire and Hull. Travel and site logistics for anywhere outside the immediate Doncaster area are simply factored into the price worked out at the free home consultation.
