What's Included in a Style Transformation, and What Isn't

  • A free design consultation with CAD visuals and a written quotation before anything is booked in
  • Cabinet door and drawer front replacement, from painted Shaker fronts to handleless contemporary lines - see our cabinet door replacement options
  • Worktop replacement across laminate, granite, quartz and other stone surfaces - see our worktop range
  • Spraying or repainting existing cabinets in a new colour where the carcasses are still sound, rather than replacing the units - see our kitchen spraying service
  • Hardware, tap and lighting changes, including handleless conversions and LED under-cabinet lighting
  • Layout changes such as removing or relocating a stud wall within the kitchen, carried out by our City & Guilds qualified joiners
  • Plumbing moves for sinks and appliance connections, carried out by our NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds trained plumbers, and electrical work for new sockets or lighting circuits, installed and safety-certified by our Part P approved electricians
  • Gas hob or range cooker disconnection, relocation and reconnection, carried out only by our Gas Safe registered engineers, plus removal of the old kitchen and all waste under our own registered waste carrier licence

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Extending the kitchen's footprint into another room, or a full house extension - that's a bigger project than a style transformation and gets quoted separately
  • New appliances themselves - we connect and commission what you already own or buy, with any gas appliance signed off by our Gas Safe engineer, but the appliance units are priced separately if you're upgrading them
  • Planning permission or listed building consent for structural changes - checking whether you need it is down to you, though we'll flag anything that looks like it needs a look before work starts
  • A paint, hardware and lighting refresh doesn't include new worktops or layout changes - those are priced and delivered as a bigger job

Real Figures From Recent Style Transformations

Cost depends entirely on how much of the kitchen is changing. A paint, hardware and lighting refresh, like the one we did for a family in Thorne, came in under £3,000. Replacing cabinet doors and the worktop while keeping the existing carcasses, as we did in Cusworth, typically costs less than half of a full kitchen renovation. A complete style transformation that involves new units, worktops, lighting and any wall removal or layout change - the kind of job we did in Tickhill - gets priced individually once we've seen the space, because structural work, plumbing and electrical moves all affect the final figure. Every job starts with a free design consultation and a written quotation, so you know the cost before anything is booked in, but an exact number for your kitchen needs a site visit rather than a phone estimate.

Comparing the Three Ways to Change Your Kitchen's Style

Option What Actually Changes Typical Cost Level Best Suited To
Paint, hardware & lighting refresh Cabinet colour, handles, taps and light fittings - the carcasses and doors stay as they are From under £3,000 (based on a recent Thorne project) A kitchen in good structural condition that just looks dated
Door, drawer & worktop replacement New cabinet fronts and a new worktop fitted onto the existing carcasses Typically less than half the cost of a full renovation (based on a recent Cusworth project) Homeowners who want a genuinely different look without buying new units
Complete style transformation New units, worktops and lighting, plus moving or removing a wall where the layout needs it Priced individually after a site visit A kitchen where the layout itself is the problem, not just the finish

The Trades Behind Every Style Change

A style transformation touches an existing kitchen rather than starting from an empty room, which takes more judgement than it looks - someone has to work out what's actually sound behind a wall or under a worktop before deciding what to do with it. That's part of why we're sometimes called out to put right jobs that other companies left behind: doors hung on carcasses that were never properly levelled, a wall taken out without checking what it was carrying, or a hob reconnected by someone who wasn't qualified to sign it off. On our jobs, the same qualified trades handle a style transformation as they would a full fit-out - moving a wall, a sink or a gas hob is treated as exactly the kind of work it is, whatever the size of the overall project.

Where We Carry Out Kitchen Style Transformations

Doncaster is where most of our style transformation work happens, and our fitting team is based just up the road at our Rotherham workshop, so we're never far from a job in South Yorkshire. The right style genuinely differs by property type across the area: newer estates around Cantley, Rossington and Auckley suit handleless contemporary designs, while older housing stock in market towns like Bawtry and Tickhill, and former mining villages such as Conisbrough and Mexborough, more often call for updates that keep some period character rather than stripping it out. We also cover Sheffield, Barnsley and the rest of South Yorkshire, and travel further out to York, Leeds, Wakefield and Hull, as well as into Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Derbyshire, for the same free design consultation and written quotation wherever the job is.
